For the April session of photographs, taken April 5, 1997, the gorge was swollen with waters from the spring thaw. Our attention shifted to focus on the flow of water itself, and the way the various elements of the gorge, the old leaves and shale bits and dropped branches, all conformed to or resisted the power of the cascade.
