An installation for Riverworks 5, Hoosic River Watershed Annual Riverfest, Pownal, VT, May 1996

Willow Merge enhanced the area around the base of a large multitrunked willow by clearing then covering the ground with short lengths of polyganum stalks. Polyganum, also known as Knot Weed, is an invasive shrub that spreads by roots and seeds and is slowly taking over riverbanks and sandbars from native species. A curved path divided the polyganum and lead to a view over the Hoosic River.
