An installation for Outdoor Sculpture Expo, Blithewold Arboretum, Bristol, RI, July, 1996

Red Column was suspended from the limb of an oak tree overhanging the front lawn at Blithewold Arboretum. The sculpture combined plant material gathered in Vermont with spring prunings from the arboretum. Naturalized red osier dogwood stalks were gathered in Vermont. Shoots of a red osier cultivar and of Hydrangea were added in Rhode Island.
